December 2, 2022

The Department of Developmental Services’ (Department) July 28, 2022 guidance outlined the services available to potential Self-Determination Program (SDP) participants and their families who have completed an SDP orientation and who are transitioning to enrollment in the SDP. The purpose of this correspondence is to extend the dates for both Options A and B, as described in the guidance, which will allow time for development of a standardized vendorization packet for the provision of Self-Directed Supports (Service Code 099).

Extension of Options for Pre-Enrollment Transition Supports

Option A shall remain an available option until June 30, 2023. Option B, effective August 1, 2022, shall remain an available option and will become the sole option effective July 1, 2023.

Development of Standardized Vendorization Packet for Self-Directed Supports

The Department will continue working with regional centers and stakeholders to develop a standardized vendorization packet for Self-Directed Supports providers. It is expected that the vendorization packet will be easy to use and available by March 1, 2023.

Regional centers should continue working with their local community to identify providers for this service.

If SDP participants or their families have questions regarding this correspondence, they should contact their regional center service coordinator. Questions from regional centers should be directed to [email protected].

Sincerely,
